prisoner of love
Perhaps you've noticed that I've been a bit MIA lately. Some weeks it seems that there aren't enough hours in a day to fit everything in.
I do love to garden. It's in the top three or four on my hobby list.
However, I do NOT like it when I have to garden on a schedule... or when there are the "I must get it done" kind of things on my "to do" list.
That said, this year seems to be heading in that direction...
Must plant, must weed, must water, must fertilize...
It's where I've been spending most of my time these past few weeks, even months since we've actually had a pretty nice spring so far... even if many of my fellow Washingtonians don't agree.
Of course I also realize that with out work, I wouldn't be able to enjoy the beauty of my gardens.
But gardening is kind of like laundry...
Just when you get it all caught up, well there's another load to do.
And soon there will be produce to pick in the veggie garden... along with nightly watering in the hot, at least hot to us, days of July and August. But it would be nice to pull up a chair and enjoy the late night sunsets of summer.
Although looking at my "to do" list, I'm guessing that the chairs will be empty for a few more weeks,

I know all about the to do list - it never ends! It definitely takes work to keep it all looking good out there. But it is so worth the effort! ... As always, your gardens are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is very beautiful and mom said to tell you that she loves your home:)

Always love see your garden and all the pretty flowers!!! Wishing you a beautiful week Chris! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteI love your comparison of the laundry, it is so true. I always seem to forget how much there is to do once things really dry out. We are supposed to have a great stretch of good weather, maybe 8 to 10 days of sun...yippee! Enjoy! xo
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are very pretty. I totally get how the gardening can be both fun and a lot of work. Our small backyard garden has been neglected so far because it has been either too wet or too cold or I am tired after work. I know, lots of excuse eh? I hope to get to it soon.
ReplyDeleteThat's the way with gardening. Either you are watering or weeding. I spend hours at it each week, but thankfully I truly enjoy it too.
ReplyDeleteYou're right about the to do list...it IS neverending.
Since we moved to the country, I am itching to have a pretty yard. The time it has taken to just put up fences to keep the rabbits out is HUGE! Your gardens are lovely - as is your entire blog.
ReplyDeleteYou said it...I feel it! There just aren't enough hours in the day, or days in the week. And the laundry comparison? You hit the nail on the head. I would like to just enjoy it once in awhile, instead of working it all the time! Although, today I was sitting in a chair outside and reading a book. But after two chapters, I just couldn't take it anymore...had to get my hands in the garden!
ReplyDeleteOh well!!!
