Do I measure up?
Last year I found an extra long, real wood "yardstick" at an antique store... I "gave" it to my husband for Christmas. After he opened it, well I promptly hung it on my our living room wall... above the barn photographs.
What started as one, has grown to a collection of six.
One so old that the telephone number is just a 4 digit number, can you imagine?
I'm not sure that I like the green one yet. He may have to grow on me.
Here's to a fabulous, long weekend.

I love your collection, Chris! I would never in a million years have thought to hang a vintage yardstick collection on a wall.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant.
And I'll like the green one on your behalf.
Here's to hoping he grows on you very soon!
Love your rulers! I have one short wooden one that I found years ago that I've been saving... now I know what to do with it! Thanks for the inspiration! ps. your home is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love your collection too! Rulers are great and I say it's a bonus when you have a phone # with just 4 digits. I also like the ones that have BE (Belmont) or AL (Atlantic) before the numbers..How fun!
ReplyDeleteThose are great! I love a new collection.
ReplyDeleteLove vintage yard sticks...what a fun idea. And I like the green one :)

That is a fun and interesting collection. I was just thinking that the green was my favourite. In my sister's small town in Northern Ontario, you can just dial the last four digits of the phone number to get someone in their village.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful, unique collection. I love it and love it over your great barn photo collection. I bought my husband a fresh egg sign for Christmas and promptly hung it in our mud room. I felt kinda guilty as he wanted to hang it in his barn loft but that wasn’t my plan :) LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat a great collection of vintage rulers you have, Chris! I love collecting the folding ones. Love the way you've displayed them!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteHi Chris: What a great collection. Hubby & I always stop and look at old yardsticks at the antique shows. They used to be used as advertising and we're always looking to find one with a business name from our area. No such luck yet!
ReplyDeletelol you and I are "stick" buddies - actually i collect biterlich sticks and log scale sticks - some are beautifully carved even...now I got some ideas on how to display them thanks to you! :)
ReplyDeleteChris,
ReplyDeleteI like them all! What a great collection!
I actually hadn't noticed the addition of the other yard sticks... When did you get the other ones?
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful and unique collection! I would love to see some of your party decorations! They are so fun to collect! I signed up to follow your blog...my fellow Northwestener! I live in Portland, Oregon! I hope you will consider following along with me too! I would love to have you!
ReplyDeleteStay Cozy, Carrie
