A bright and sunny Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day... the middle of February... February 14th to be exact.
But no matter what you call it, it's really still winter. I know you don't want to hear that. We don't get spring for a number of weeks. But I think someone has forgotten to tell Mother Nature, at least here in Washington our winter has been surprisingly mild since our few days of snow in January. We've had temperatures in the 50's and a number of sunny days in February.
So many that these lilacs are showing their buds... can you believe it? I have some hydrangeas with buds, roses with growth and of course my primroses are in full bloom... hopefully Jack Frost will not make too strong a showing in the upcoming weeks until it is officially spring.
I hope your Valentine's Day has been a bright and sunny one... and like the candy says....
A Happy Valentine to "me & you"!

It has felt like spring here in Chicago, too! But it just can't last...it's not possible. I think. I hope. I sort of miss the snow. And I can't wait to see the first buds and shoots. Lovely pictures!

I'm looking forward to my lilacs blooming. I put a photo of my snowdrops in bloom on my blog. I'm going to take more photos of them as I have a huge bloom of them this year! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteWe have had such a mild Winter here, too. We did finally get some very cold temps and snow. But today was back up to 52. I am so afraid that we will end up not having a pretty Spring this year if things get nipped with frost. I am concerned about the fruit trees, too. It is nice to have the mild temps, but we may end up regretting it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day
It has been mild and a few days have been glorious...makes me long for spring. xo
