A work in progress....
I've been working on a bit of a remake of my bedroom for weeks now. I painted it while on vacation in July, including the trim. For my vacation in August I got around to hanging the curtain rods watching my husband hang the new curtain rods while I assisted by holding the screws and/or tape measure. I DID sew up one set of curtains... alas, there are two windows so one more to go!
The color is a lot lighter and brighter. Just what I was looking for. This first picture is the "truest" picture of the new wall color.... the name, Raffia Cream by Behr.
I found these fabulous "Paris" prints by Marius Girard at the thrift store for .99 cents each... I found others in the "Paris" series on ebay... the going price a bit more than my .99 cents!
Of course they were an odd size so when I put the in my IKEA frames, a bargain for an 11 x 14 at $9.99, I found they were too large for the mat opening. My solution?
Put them on TOP of the mat... worked great, the glass keeps them in place. Placing the pictures on top of the mat also means I can still see the tattered, stained, worn edges... which I really like!
The colors pick up on most of the colors I'm trying to incorporate into my room. I really like how they look in my lighter and brighter, perhaps soon to be finished, bedroom. And not bad for a whopping $22.96 for two good sized pieces of art!
And a little sneak peak you say?
Bright and cheery I think....
Here's to having time to get inside projects done soon... Tonight after watering my gardens, there was the faint smell of wood smoke in the air... fall is just around the corner.

I am drooling over your prints, how great that they look like you bought them to match the room...love it when it works out like that. The color does brighten up but it is soft all at the same time.
ReplyDeleteChris I love the color that you chose for your room, so light but cozy as well and your prints are beautiful. I really need to go to Ikea!!
ReplyDeletexoxo
Those are great pictures!
ReplyDeleteI will have to check out the color the next time i am at HD. I am needing to paint my living room and am not sure what color to go with yet. I like what your choice of color.
Love those prints. Love the lamp too.
ReplyDeleteHello Chris!
ReplyDeleteOoooo I love the new color of your bedroom. Not sure what color it was before but I love the soft and delicate yellow...it reminds me of the Creme Brulee by Behr that I used in our guest bedroom. I also love your Paris prints! When I was in Paris with my sister back in 99 I bought some paintings similar to yours along the Seine near the Eiffel Tower. I have never put them into frames! After seeing how pretty yours are maybe I should pull them out and see if I can find frames for them. Love your Ikea frames with the mats...very pretty and perfect for your bedroom. I'll be looking forward to seeing your room when you're done :) Hope your day has been a good one.
Maura :)
I'm so ready for a bedroom make-over!!!! Love what you're doing with yours! I'll keep watching for ideas!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the sweater and soup weather!!!!
And I'm envious of your tomatoes. I have a lot, but not really turning red. Seems I'm not destined to become a fabulous tomato grower!!!
Very pretty prints. I'm feeling ready to do some indoor projects too. But isn't the weather still glorious!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your prints. Your paint color looks very calming for your bedroom-I like it!
ReplyDeleteOoh! Now I'm impatient to see the whole room! The sneak peek is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWhat a simple but great solution, too. Put the print ON the mat!
