crushing on....

For the first time ever, we have grapes on one of our grapevines.... I've been watching out for these all summer, ever since I noticed the tiniest of clusters forming.

They're very sweet to eat...

And no where near enough for crushing... even if they were a variety for winemaking.

I guess our wet spring, dry summer and still very dry beginning of fall were just what these little guys were waiting for....

And I can hardly wait to see the leaves turn fabulous, autumn-y shades of yellow and gold!

  5. How exciting to have grown your own grapes! I heard on the news that this year's weather has given the Niagara area wineries near perfect conditions for a great crop of grapes. Lovely photos!
