Shiny and Brite, holiday project #5

A few weeks ago I came across this idea on this blog.... an unusual sort of "wreath".  Basically, a vintage mold or bundt-y kind of pan, filled with all kinds of shapes, colors and sizes of Shiny Brites.  When I saw it I knew I had to make one for myself.

I had lots of Shiny Brites and a glue gun... it was a bit difficult to find the exact kind of pan I wanted.  I finally found this one at an antique store for just $4.00.  I think it's actually a mold of some kind.....  It had just the look and vintage-ness that I was looking for.

I unburied my glue gun and sorted my Shiny Brites.  It was actually a very simple project of gluing the ornaments first into the bottom of the pan....

And then building on it from there... I did work at getting the glue just right so that you wouldn't be able to see hot glue bubbling out from between the ornaments.... although I plan to hang this fairly high up this year, it may be more eye level in years to come!

And voila!  A fun, festive and easy wreath!

I also tries to have some of the prettier or unusual ornaments as the top layer...

And also filled in with teeny tiny ornaments if there was any awkward spaces left.

I had so many of the smaller ornaments left over that I decided to also make a mini version using this child sized bundt pan....

It looks pretty cute next to the big sister version....

And where will these go?  I've decided I wanted to keep most of the Shiny Brites in the dining room so they will go above the clock and Santa....

For right now they are dangerously propped up there... I need to go to the store for some bigger 3M temporary hooks.  Then I will string a ribbon through the center and hang them just above the clock.  A nice little shiny spot I'd say.

And of course, another sneak peak of the main event....

So happy it's Friday... just over 3 weeks to the holidays,
