Shiney Brites & Silver

I love the look of old Shiny Brite ornaments and tree toppers.

This year I decided to display them along with some old silver pieces.

This little holiday vignette is all on a vintage silver tray on my dining room table.

Easy to move, no fuss, no muss.

Almost the weekend... and people... I'm going shopping!

  1. What a wonderful collection of Shiny and Bright. It reminds me of my Christmas tree decorations growing up. I wonder what happen to all our old ornaments? I'll have to ask my mother.

  2. I think I have all of the very same ornaments as you...I can hardly wait to get down to our Vancouver house to get them out and up on the tree. You have me all sentimental now.

  6. Hello Chris!
I am just popping over from Lisa's blog at Suburban Retreat! I love your vintage sparklies, I collect them as well and even have my Mom's parent's antique corn on the cob ornament from their first Christmas in the early 1900's.
I'll be back to read more of your past posts when I take my breaks.
Drop over to my blog when you get a chance!!
Warm hugs and Merry Christmas, Laura

  11. I was needing to catch up on your stuff and noticed in Christmas in your kitchen post that you have what seems to be the identical shelves...I don't know what they look like from away but that could be MY kitchen shelves!

A few of those ornaments above I grew up with. My mother had her grandma's ornaments on our tree...at the time we were the ONLY family with "OLD" ornaments and boy did I think our tree sucked. Now when I look back, my mother had a booty bag full of very expensive ornaments.....I wonder what became of them?

  13. Oh Chris, I just wrote a long comment and it somehow disappeared when I clicked on "post comment". Well, I was just saying how much I love your Christmas display. I love how you have mixed the beautiful ornaments with silver. It makes everything sparkle. I also love how you have put your display on a large silver tray...Hmmm, I may just have to copy you on that!
Have fun decorating. Do you have snow to usher in the holiday season?

  14. There's nothing like a bunch of Shiny Brites to put a smile on my face! Yours look so beautiful in the silver pieces. I don't think I found a single one this year, and thrifting has been horrible lately. I really don't need more, I just WANT more!
