a happy mother's day

Happy Mother's Day to all, from me... at Red Gate Farm.

I was the recipient of a fabulous "window box" made by my son from an old window and some barn wood scraps.

He came over bright and early this morning to make it... so bright and early that I was still in bed!  But what a nice surprise.  It will hang on the side of our little pump house and I'll have to fill it with flowers... perhaps some of my homegrown zinnias?

The Mother's Day Rhodie is almost in full bloom, as usual for this day.

And although I won't be spending today with my entire family, I will be spending it will a large portion... hopefully this is a day of happiness for you all too.

Oh and P.S. .... those millions (I'm sure) dandelions are in our 16 or so acres of field grass... just waiting to blow over into my flower beds and lawns!
