A sunny surprise....
Last week I stopped by my local thrift store. Typically they have some sort of sale or special... but it is rather random as to what it may be. On this particular Friday it was 50% off on all furniture. After making the rounds through the store I headed over to the furniture section. Much to my surprise I came across this gem...
A table and 5 chairs... the table is actually the identical table, except for the color, that my son purchased shortly after he bought his first house. A table that is still in his garage because heneeds wants to paint it before bring it in... and a table with no chairs as well. It has been driving my husband crazy that he didn't have a table and chairs in his house....
The set was in pretty good shape considering it's age... I assume from the 50's or so. The table even has a leaf that pops up from the inside! The five matching chairs were also in pretty good shape for their age. They are very heavy since the underside of the seat and the "back of the back" are actually metal... The vinyl is in pretty good shape as well with just a few tears on a couple of chairs.
But the most unbelievable part? Well the price. "A steal of a steel table" and chairs even at $25... but at 50% off I got it for $12.50!! Cheaper than a carry out pizza I might add... When we went to pick it up the folks at the store told me it had been $100 and they had just marked it down that morning... Lucky me or my son that is.
Of course we also delivered it to him... while he was at work... a sunny surprise.

What a great deal ... you can't find a chair for $12 let alone a table and 4 chairs. I hope your son enjoys it :)
