Planning...

So it's that time again.

I'm breaking out my new orange notebook for my 2011 Garden Journal.

I like to plan out my vegetable garden and make a little diagram.

I really wish I could make it look like this...
Martha Stewart's Gardening Book

I also like to plan for additions or changes to my other gardens.  Lists of seeds or starts I'd like to get.  Perhaps making notes about moving plants as necessary or a new plant for a certain spot.  Or even something like this little treasure....

This would look so good in my "backyard"... I have just the right shady spot... A place to relax and unwind at the end of the day...

and I know we have some extra, salvaged windows hanging around... hint, hint.

Looking forward to the sunny spring days to come,

  2. Keeping notebooks like that is a good idea. Every year I think I will remember things and then it is just a blur.

  9. I try to get my husband to keep a garden journal, but I haven't had any luck yet. You are so fortunate to live in Washington, I have family up there and I think it's amazingly beautiful. My aunt has a wonderful Seattle garden-every plant in her garden is thriving; in fact, her garden was featured in Cottage Living magazine twice.Do you ever visit Buchart Gardens? It's one of our favorite places. Have a beautiful day!

  11. Oooh, I like that bench building! How clever! Your garden planning is way better than mine. I should put mine on paper like you, my ideas are usually just in my head.

  12. Best wishes to you for your garden goals this year! I love benches, whether natural or manmade...

Im in the process in my free time (ha! I know what it is, and IWANTMOREOFIT) designing a concrete patio to encircle half of the house. My goal is to have movable pots since we are in zone 3 but an arid climate (for pete sakes i have wild yucca AND larkspur all around, what gives?)
