Fair Day

It's the 100th Anniversary of the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden, WA.

Since the weather was much cooler we decided to head over this afternoon.  Lynden is just a 10 minute drive from Red Gate Farm.

We spent about 3 hours at the fair and checked out the pigs, cows, chickens, beef (which is different than the cows... who knew), flowers, veggies, homemade goodies, canning and "stitching"... and all of the 4-H projects.  It was a lot of fun to see everything that young, old and everything in between had worked on the past year.

Of course we had lunch, good ol' fair burgers at the Ferndale FFA booth (with grilled onions) and a Coke.  Skipped most of the other offerings... everything was just sooo expensive.

(I forgot my camera and took just the following picture with my cell phone.)

Hope everyone is having a great day...

  1. Hi Chris:

Love, LOVE, LOVE country fairs! Many decades ago I even entered my son in a local fair's baby contest (much to my dismay, he did not win)! Sounds like you had a great time! ~Lisa~
