Is there a finish line?

When it feels like nothing is ever finished at this ol' place, I look back at photos and realize we have accomplished a great deal.... inside and out.

When we moved in, grass grew right up to the garage.

It was a daring move, but now we actually have a concrete pad and new doors.

We were surprised to find an existing raised, brick flower bed.

Now I have a lovely view of this bed of flowers when I stand at my kitchen sink

The same bed, is home to this gnome, who can continue to smile up at my kitchen window all fall and winter, long after the flowers are gone.

Hope your weekend was a great one,
Chris at Red Gate Farm

  1. Dear Chris - Isn't that the truth? Sometimes it takes some contemplation, looking back upon all we've accomplished to actually be able to see that we've moved forward! Just upon reviewing your blog I can certainly see that your farm has come a long way since you first moved in. It all looks so peaceful and pretty and probably the best place EVER to live. Gosh ... you are so lucky. As I sit here now I can hear the morning traffic outside my window - and it's not quite 7 a.m. I hope you have a fabulous week!

  2. I know what you mean...sometimes I think we have not got anything done but then someone comes that has not been to the house for a couple of months and they can't believe how much we have accomplished!...so it is because you live it every day that you don't realize how much you are actually doing..stay strong..lol..
