Do I measure up?

Last year I found an extra long, real wood "yardstick" at an antique store... I "gave" it to my husband for Christmas.  After he opened it, well I promptly hung it on my our living room wall... above the barn photographs.

What started as one, has grown to a collection of six.

One so old that the telephone number is just a 4 digit number, can you imagine?

I'm not sure that I like the green one yet.  He may have to grow on me.

Here's to a fabulous, long weekend.

  1. I love your collection, Chris! I would never in a million years have thought to hang a vintage yardstick collection on a wall.
    Brilliant.
And I'll like the green one on your behalf.
Here's to hoping he grows on you very soon!

  3. I love your collection too! Rulers are great and I say it's a bonus when you have a phone # with just 4 digits. I also like the ones that have BE (Belmont) or AL (Atlantic) before the numbers..How fun!

  6. That is a fun and interesting collection. I was just thinking that the green was my favourite. In my sister's small town in Northern Ontario, you can just dial the last four digits of the phone number to get someone in their village.

  7. What a wonderful, unique collection. I love it and love it over your great barn photo collection. I bought my husband a fresh egg sign for Christmas and promptly hung it in our mud room. I felt kinda guilty as he wanted to hang it in his barn loft but that wasn’t my plan :) LOL

  11. Hi Chris: What a great collection. Hubby & I always stop and look at old yardsticks at the antique shows. They used to be used as advertising and we're always looking to find one with a business name from our area. No such luck yet!
